Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the Lanka Ads website, accounts, advertisements, and related services. By accessing or using Lanka Ads, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement to use Lanka Ads. Some advertisements are adult-oriented. You are responsible for following all laws applicable to you, your advertisements, and any activity arranged through the platform. Where the legal minimum age for an activity is higher than 18, the higher age applies.

2. Our role

Lanka Ads provides a platform for user-generated advertisements. Unless expressly stated otherwise, we do not own, offer, inspect, endorse, or provide the advertised products or services. We are not a party to communications, payments, appointments, employment arrangements, sales, or other dealings between users. Advertisers are responsible for their advertisements. Visitors are responsible for evaluating advertisers and deciding whether to communicate or proceed with a transaction.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your account details and verification codes secure. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account. You must notify us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. One-time passwords and other account checks help protect accounts but do not guarantee a user’s identity.

4. Advertisement rules

You may publish only content that is accurate, lawful, and that you have permission to use.

You must not use Lanka Ads to:

• Feature, target, exploit, or endanger anyone under 18.
• Promote trafficking, coercion, non-consensual activity, abuse, violence, or illegal services.
• Impersonate another person.
• Use stolen, misleading, or unauthorized photographs or information.
• Commit fraud or request payments using deceptive claims.
• Publish private information or intimate material without permission.
• Infringe copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, or other legal rights.
• Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or defame another person.
• Publish spam, duplicate listings, misleading keywords, or manipulated engagement.
• Distribute malware, conduct phishing, or collect information unlawfully.
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, overload, or bypass the platform’s security systems.
• Advertise prohibited goods or otherwise violate applicable law.

We may reject, edit, restrict, unpublish, or remove advertisements. We may also suspend or close accounts when we reasonably believe these Terms, our policies, applicable law, or community safety require it. We are not required to review every advertisement before it is published.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit. By submitting content, you grant Lanka Ads a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, resize, display, and distribute it for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving the platform. You confirm that you have all necessary rights and permissions for your content and for every identifiable person appearing in it.

6. Paid features and credits

Prices, durations, and features for promoted advertisements or credits will be shown when they are purchased. Payments are for advertising placement or platform features. They do not guarantee views, enquiries, sales, appointments, or successful results. Unless required by law or expressly stated when purchasing, used credits and activated promotional services are non-refundable.

7. Verification and platform labels

Verification badges, scores, “real image,” “cashback guaranteed,” agent labels, and similar indicators reflect only the checks or program requirements described by Lanka Ads at that time. These indicators do not guarantee a person’s identity, conduct, availability, legality, safety, service quality, or future performance. Any cashback request is subject to the rules, evidence requirements, deadlines, and exclusions displayed for that program.

8. User safety

Do not assume that an advertisement is genuine merely because it appears on Lanka Ads.

Users should:

• Verify claims and identities independently.
• Protect personal and financial information.
• Avoid suspicious advance payments.
• Use safe payment methods.
• Meet only in places and circumstances where they feel safe.
• Stop communicating when behaviour appears suspicious.

If you believe a crime, exploitation, or immediate danger is involved, contact the appropriate authorities and report the advertisement to us.

9. Intellectual property

The Lanka Ads name, branding, software, design, and original platform content belong to Lanka Ads or its licensors. You may not copy, republish, sell, or commercially exploit these materials without permission.

10. Third-party services

Lanka Ads may contain links to payment providers, messaging applications, social networks, and other third-party services. We do not control these services. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.

11. Availability

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of Lanka Ads. We do not guarantee that the platform will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or free from errors.

12. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lanka Ads is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee advertisements, advertisers, users, transactions, responses, services, products, or results.

Lanka Ads and its operators will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from user content, off-platform communications, payments, meetings, or dealings between users. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms by publishing a revised version and changing the effective date. Your continued use of Lanka Ads after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Disputes will be subject to the competent courts of Sri Lanka unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
